Nanchang Institute of Technology (NIT), founded in 1999, is a private undergraduate college approved by China’s Ministry of Education. It was upgraded from a vocational college to a private university in 2005 and granted Bachelor’s degree conferral rights in 2009. In 2012, NIT passed the national undergraduate teaching evaluation, recognized as a leader in private education. It began joint postgraduate training with East China Jiaotong University in 2015. NIT was authorized as a Master’s degree construction unit under the 13th and 14th Five-Year Plans and named a national defense education characteristic school by the Ministry of Education.
